Acoustic pod questions and answers

An acoustic office pod is a freestanding, enclosed booth that gives one to six people a quiet, ventilated and lit space inside an open-plan office. It is assembled from panels rather than built, so it needs no construction works and can be moved when the office changes.

Fermann pods are rated Class B for speech level reduction under ISO 23351-1, tested by TÜV SÜD, meaning they cut speech by 25 to 30 dB. Wall panels have a design value of Rw + Ctr 30 dB and the interior reverberation time is about 0.25 seconds, so conversation inside becomes a murmur outside.

Choose by the largest group that will regularly use it. The S is for one person on calls, the M for focus work or a 1:1, the ML for two or three people, the L for up to four and the XL for up to six. Our size guide compares them side by side.

Price depends mainly on size, glass type, optional extras and installation access. We quote each project in AED with delivery and installation included, plus 5% VAT. Send your floor plan and the number of pods for a written quote, usually within one working day.

Every Fermann pod has two silenced fans that replace the air about every 2 minutes, drawing cool air from the office. Pods do not have their own air-conditioning unit, so they should sit where the office AC reaches them.

Pods are freestanding furniture and usually avoid the full fit-out approval a built meeting room needs. They still plug into building power and sit under the building fire system, so check with your landlord or free-zone authority. We can supply drawings and specifications for that check.

A two-person team assembles a Fermann pod in about 2 hours. The pod is built from top, bottom, wall and door modules, so it needs only a clear route for the panels, a level floor and a power socket nearby.

Yes. Pods are modular and can be taken down and reassembled in a new position or a new office. The optional wheels let you move a pod across the same floor without dismantling it.

A standard socket. Pods accept 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers UAE mains, and include 12 V USB charging inside. Lights and fans run from three switches, or automatically with the optional motion sensor.

Pods come in seven frame colours and three frame styles: round, bevel and slim. Options include a motion sensor, wheels, card, code or biometric access, smart glass, a smart lock, a smoke sensor and sprinkler head, and a camera.
