Acoustic pod or built meeting room?

Updated 2026-10-17 by the Fermann Acoustics team, Dubai

For most Dubai offices an acoustic pod is faster and more flexible than a built meeting room. A pod is installed in hours, usually avoids a full fit-out approval, and moves with you at the end of the lease. A built room suits larger groups, permanent layouts and spaces that need their own air-conditioning.

When a pod is the better choice

  • You need extra meeting or call space quickly.
  • Your lease is short, or you expect to move or reorganise.
  • You want to avoid fit-out approvals and works in an occupied office.

When to build a room instead

  • Meetings regularly involve more than six people.
  • You need a room with its own temperature control or extensive AV.
  • The layout is long-term and the space is already being refitted.

Many offices use both: a built boardroom for large meetings and pods for the everyday calls and small meetings that make up most of the demand.

Do I need Dubai Civil Defence approval for a pod?

Pods are furniture rather than built rooms, so they normally fall outside full fit-out approvals. Check with your landlord or free-zone authority, as sprinkler coverage and power positions may still need confirmation. We provide drawings and specs for that check.
